  FROST’s fourth and final instalment of Perm Octo Clavè Induction Set to be released on 7th October 2022 (lathe cut 5” vinyl/digital)
  
  Perm Octo Clavè Induction Set is a body of work created by drummer and electronic musician, FROST. The collection encompasses 8 songs released as four separate lathe-cut 5” vinyl records with screen printed and laser cut record sleeves. Born out of a fascination of rhythm and the traditions, habits and values that have formed over time, Perm Octo Clavè Induction Set is an examination, deconstruction and reimagining of traditional clavè rhythms.
  Each song explores a unique iteration of a rhythmic motif, with acoustic instrumentation in dialogue with sequenced electronics. There are reoccurring themes of minimalism, experimental electronica, jazz and post-rock, underpinned by an ideology of networked beats.
  
  In contrast to spiky staccato electronic sounds featured in earlier works, instalment V.4 begins with 00o0o•o0o [Clavè G] which embraces resonant gamelan inspired sounds alongside syncopated percussion. There is a more organic and less electronic sound with earthy woody tones circling between repetitive percussive structures, creating an imagery where the music could be performed in a room by a live ensemble.
  
  Completing the set is 0o•o00o0o [Clavè H] which opens with sounds akin to electronic pan pipes which have been amplified and elongated, emulating the whistle of a steam train. Squelchy synths duel with fidgety funk inspired rhythms over syncopated unsettled percussion, resolving into a snappy bass line hook.
